New AWE Stations at the Library
Dearborn Public Library receives 8 new computer stations for children
DEARBORN,Mich. –All Dearborn Public Library locations recently received brand new AWE Early Literacy Station Computers, with the help of a $10,000 donation from Ford Motor Company.
The new machines feature touch screens and the latest versions of educational software which focus on the six skills of the Every Child Ready to Read initiative: print awareness, letter knowledge, phonological awareness, vocabulary, narrative skills, and print motivation.
AWE machines allow children ages two to eight the opportunity to experience technology safely, since they are not connected to the internet, while engaging them in educational games.
The early literacy stations are available at all Dearborn Public Library locations. There are four at the Henry Ford Centennial Library, three at the Esper Branch, and one at the Bryant Branch.
Visit the library’s website, www.dearbornlibrary.org, or stop by the Henry Ford Centennial Library, Bryant Branch Library, or Esper Branch Library for more information.
