Cricut offers a wide variety of tools for presses, embroidery, design, and more. The Sparklab uses the proprietary software, DesignSpace, which is available for free use in the lab. Before usage, please watch this video for an introduction to using Cricut. Additionally, patrons are free to use markers, ink pens, and Cricut tools available in the lab.

This manual heat press covers a flat space of up to 9” square and can heat up to 450 degrees. A built-in timer will let you know when to remove the heat.

This tiny heat press is great for smaller projects or for hard to reach places. This heat press has 3 simple pre-set temperatures that will work with most heat transfer vinyls and sublimation inks.

Cricut Maker 4 *

Brother SE1900 Embroidery and Sewing Machine *Currently out of service

This machine is for both sewing and embroidery. It has 138 pre-programmed embroidery designs and 11 embroidery fonts. You can also import your own designs. It will embroider up to 5” x 7”. It also has 240 pre-programmed sewing stitches including 10 styles of auto-size buttonholes.

Brother XR9550 Sewing and Quilting Machine

This computerized machine includes 165 built-in utility, decorative and heirloom stitches, making it ideal for everything from garment construction to complex quilting. The XR9550 features an LCD screen, free arm capability, drop feed for free motion quilting/sewing, 8 quick change presser feet, and an oversized wide table for larger projects.

Brother 1034D Serger

A compact overlock machine, the 1034D is a 3/4 thread serger designed for finishing edge and hems of a wide range of fabrics.

Singer M1500 Sewing Machine

This machine is great for beginners looking to get started with machine sewing, thanks to preset stitch length and width. The M1500 has 57 stitch applications to sew fashions, piece quilts, create crafts, or do simple mending.

Singer M3500 Sewing Machine

A step up from the Lab’s M1500 models, this beginner friendly machine offers basic and decorative stitches, along with stretch stitches, so you can sew a wide range of fabrics – from sheer to stretch knit to denim and more. Stitch width and stitch length can be adjusted to further customize stitches for each and every project – a total of 110 stitch applications!

Singer 4432 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine

This sewing machine can handle a variety of fabrics from sheers to denim. It has 110 stitch applications including a one-step buttonhole.

White Knitting Machine

This easy knitting machine can quickly create flat panels of knitting.

Glass Bottle Cutter

This bottle cutter tool is for cutting any bottle size up to 7.67 inches. It can cut both round and square bottles.

Cold Press Manual Laminator

This is a manually operated film laminator designed for large format laminating. It can laminate up to 29” wide. This piece of equipment is not stored in the SparkLab and must be reserved ahead of time to use. This machine has charges for supplies please see the pricing table for materials charges.

Hot Seal Laminator

This is a standard hot seal laminator. It uses lamination pouches that can be purchased through the library or you may bring your own pouches. This laminator can handle paper up to 8.5” x 14”. For larger pieces needing to be laminated, please see the Cold Press Laminator listed above.
